The San Diego – Tijuana region is reputed to have the best weather in North America.  You get to enjoy the July weekend on the beach and start the Fair Trade Academy when the days are long, the surfing on both sides of the border is exquisite, and the fish tacos are fresh.  Tijuana is readying for the bull fighting season and a luche libre wrestling match can usually be found on a weekend night only a half hour drive from downtown San Diego. Whether shopping in the famous department stores of Fashion Valley, touring the boutiques of Little Italy or La Jolla, hitting the markets of Old Town or street bargaining on Avenida Revolucion in downtown Tijuana, there is plenty to take back with you.

The Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego hosts a most vibrant nightlife, and by crossing the border you can always find a party in Tijuana.  For outdoor enthusiasts, the nearby deserts and canyons are perfect for a late afternoon or weekend hike.  Enjoy parasailing near Torrey Pines State Park and the legendary public golf course, home to a PGA tournament.  Or volunteer at a local border-related non-governmental agency or project.
