After serving one year as a Teaching Fellow and three years as an Assistant Professor, Michael Yu received a promotion to Associate Professor of Law at California Western School of Law. Before teaching, he worked in private practice as a trusts and estates and tax lawyer in San Francisco and in Los Angeles. Before working in private practice, he served as a law clerk to The Honorable Thomas B. Wells, Judge, United States Tax Court, and, during law school, he served as an extern law clerk to The Honorable Theodore H. Katz, Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. His teaching and research interests are in trusts and estates and tax law. Publications
