Withdrawal from Classes for F-1 Students

Rule/Regulations
Do not drop, withdraw from or cancel your classes without authorization from a DSO or you will fall out of status and will have to leave the country immediately.  You must contact the M.C.L./LL.M. Office before you request cancellation of classes or withdrawal from the Associate Dean’s office.  Also see Reduced Course Load.

What You Must Do
Contact the M.C.L./LL.M. Office as soon as possible prior to actual application for withdrawal.

Deadline
The M.C.L./LL.M. Office must nofitfy SEVIS within 21 days of the event.

NOTE: 
DSO-authorized withdrawal – must leave U.S. within 15 days.

Non-authorized withdrawal – no grace period (must leave immediately)
