Area of Concentration
Child, Family & Elder Law "Family values" is perhaps the most frequently invoked political incantation of our time. We are living in a time when understanding the basics of family law is vitally important to those who participate in shaping our society. At the same time, the need for practitioners who can provide legal services to clients in this area has also mushroomed. Divorce, abuse, out-of-wedlock births, artificial methods of conception, same-sex relationships, medical technology for sustaining life, an increasingly older population, and other cultural changes have created burgeoning areas of law where the advice and representation of attorneys are needed. Questions about the concentration may be directed to one of the co-directors of the Child, Family & Elder Law Concentration, Professor Janet Weinstein, jweinstein@cwsl.edu or Professor Janet Bowermaster, jbowermaster@cwsl.edu. Further information is also available by contacting the Admissions Office, or you may download the student proposal form (PDF opens in new window). |
