Education Benefits for Veterans, Survivors, and Dependents

California Western School of Law is approved for the training of veterans and eligible persons under the provisions of Title 38, United States Code.

 

Refer to the Education section of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs web site for information about the types of education benefits available, how to apply for benefits, the amounts, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Yellow Ribbon Program

 

California Western School of Law proudly participates in the Post-9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008.  This program allows degree granting institutions of higher learning in the U.S. to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Veterans Administration to help fund tuition expenses for eligible veterans. Information about Post-9/11 benefits, including the Yellow Ribbon Program, is available online at www.gibill.va.gov or veterans may inquire about education benefits by calling 1-888-GIBILL1 (442-4551).

How Yellow Ribbon Works at California Western School of Law:

 

Applications for the Yellow Ribbon program benefits will be accepted from all admitted and continuing J.D. and Masters Degree candidates. California Western School of Law has established a limit of eight veterans to receive this benefit for the 2012-2013 calendar year. The award will include up to $5,000 from California Western School of Law and up to $5,000 from the Veterans Administration for a total award of up to $10,000 per year. Yellow Ribbon awards must be made on a first-come, first served basis. In order to apply for Yellow Ribbon benefits at California Western School of Law, an applicant must:

 

The date and time of receipt of the application materials will be recorded and will determine the order of awarding. Students awarded will continue to receive Yellow Ribbon benefits as long as the Law School continues to participate in the program and while the student remains continuously enrolled in the program for which he/she initially received the benefit and complies with all Veterans Administration and California Western School of Law required deadlines and procedures.
