From time to time, California Western receives information about various scholarships that are supported by foundations, nonprofit organizations, law firms and networking groups.

When you search for alternative scholarship options there are existing tools and resources at your disposal. For example, the Law School Admission Council has compiled a list of diversity scholarships for prospective and current law students.

Marshall-Motley Scholars Program

Deadline: February 16, 2021

The Marshall-Motley Scholars Program, named for civil rights pioneers Thurgood Marshall and Constance Baker Motley, will provide full financial support for all law school expenses and long-term career and leadership opportunities to 50 aspiring civil rights lawyers over the next five years. Law school candidates who are passionate about pursuing civil rights law in the Southern U.S. are eligible to apply. In order to share more information about this scholarship, LSAC will host an informational webinar on Wednesday 2/10/21 at 9:00am PST.

Lawyers of Distinction Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2021

The Lawyers of Distinction Scholarship was founded to help college students achieve their dreams without having to worry about the financial burden of whether or not they will be able to afford school. It's no secret that education fees are outrageous, and we want to play a part in supporting future generations. Each year we will award one student with a $1,000 scholarship. Learn more here.

Zelle Diversity in Law Scholarship

Deadline: March 29, 2021

The keystone of the firm's Diversity Outreach Plan, the Diversity in Law Scholarship was created for law students who either (1) are a member of a population or group whose background and perspectives are historically underrepresented in the private practice of law; or (2) demonstrate a long-standing commitment to diversity that will be furthered by award of the scholarship. The Scholarship awards the selected recipient a total of $15,000.00 to be applied towards the selected recipient’s law school tuition, fees, and text books.  Learn more here.

Clear Path Lending Scholarship

Deadline: July 31, 2021

In 2021, we formed the ClearPath Lending Scholarship - a scholarship designed to invest in future generations and their education. Our goal: supporting students in financial need, as well as to encourage and educate students to think through their financial futures. ClearPath Lending wants to hear your answer to the following question in the form of a 600-word essay: Do you think owning a home is important? Why or why not? Online Divorcer Law School Scholarship

Deadline: August 31, 2021

In 2021, OnlineDivorcer encourages law students worldwide to take part in an article writing competition to win a $2,500 scholarship. Whether you are a first-year who has just gotten in or are about to graduate and become a lawyer, you are welcome to participate. It will only take some time to do research and a little inspiration to apply!
