CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ADMISSION TO CALIFORNIA WESTERN!

DEAN'S CAMPUS REOPENING UPDATE:

It is with great pleasure that I announce that we are fast approaching the reopening of our campus – it is a moment that I have longed for and for which faculty and staff are actively preparing.  These preparations have been guided by health and safety concerns, and the decision by the Board of Trustees establishing a policy requiring individuals on campus to be fully vaccinated by the time the law school officially reopens on August 2, 2021.  This includes faculty, staff, students, vendors, trustees and visitors to the campus.

To implement the Board’s decision, a committee of dedicated faculty and staff is crafting policies to facilitate a smooth reopening process while also ensuring that we maintain the health and wellness of our entire community.

August 2, 2021 is the date on which the law school will switch from remote to in-person operations. Law school offices and classrooms will be open and classes will be conducted in-person.  Those who enter the campus must have verified with the law school that they have been fully vaccinated.  For students, staff and faculty verification must occur no later than before August 2, 2021.

In the coming weeks, California Western will announce the processes for verifying your vaccination status. The law school will also provide a process to request an exemption for medical or religious reasons under limited circumstances, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act and federal and state law.

In the meantime, we encourage you to begin preparing for the August 2, 2021 reopening including saving your vaccination card.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the law school and your patience as we transition back to being on campus.

All my best,

Sean M. Scott (she/hers)
President and Dean
