Transfer Students

Requirements

The most important transfer criterion is your law school academic record.

  • Before applying, you should have completed one year (approximately 30 credits) of law school
  • If you were enrolled part-time you can be considered if you have completed at least 16 credits.
  • We can accept up to 44 credits (with a grade of C or better) from ABA/AALS schools.
  • We can accept up to 30 credits (with a grade of C or better) from ABA schools or state bar accredited schools.
  • We also consider your LSAT score and your undergraduate grade point average in this process.

  • Fall - July 15
  • Spring - November 15
  • Summer - March 15

  • Application, submitted via LSAC.org
  • Letter of good standing from current law school
  • Official transcript reflecting completion of first year, with class rank
  • CAS Report

  • Personal Statement

Visiting Students

If you wish to study at California Western but are planning to receive your law degree from another ABA school, you may apply for visiting student status (for one or two trimesters).

**Requirement waived for students visiting from New England School of Law, South Texas College of Law, or William Mitchell College of Law.
