Upon graduation, traveling team participants who stay in the San Diego area are invited back as team coaches; currently, 98 percent of coaches involved in the program are alumni from the last six years.

Deborah S. Dixon '07
California Western's current president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, Moot Court Honors Board alumna Deborah Dixon is a Senior Trial Attorney at Gomez Trial Attorneys. Previously, she was named partner at Wingert Grebing—the prestigious local firm where she began as a student law clerk—just five years after graduating from law school.
Deborah's enthusiastic nature, unwavering work ethic, and dedication to the pursuit of justice extends beyond the practice of law, as she remains actively involved at California Western. In addition to serving as president of the alumni board, she is an adjunct professor of the Distinguished Advocates Trial Skills class, and coaches intrascholastic trial competitors as well as the traveling teams that represent the law school in competitions throughout the nation.
Christopher M. Lawson '05
Moot Court Honors Board alumnus Christopher Lawson serves as a San Diego County deputy district attorney assigned to the Gang Prosecution Unit, where he prosecutes murders and other violent crimes.
During his law school career, Christopher competed in multiple national trial team competitions, and since graduation, he has served as a member of the adjunct faculty, teaching Trial Skills for Distinguished Advocates, and has coached numerous trial teams at the law school that have competed around the country. Despite his busy work schedule, Christopher also volunteers some of his free time to judging local trial and appellate advocacy competitions.
