An international legal studies student

In today’s global economy, lawyers increasingly encounter transnational issues in their practice. The ability to solve problems in this global environment requires a solid understanding of international law and an appreciation of political, cultural, and linguistic differences.

Our International Legal Studies Program offers an enriched J.D. and LL.M./M.C.L. curriculum in international and comparative law. Taught by talented faculty with academic and practice experience, the classroom emphasis on theory and practice is completmened by curriculum and programs providing real-world experience.

With the campus located in one of the Pacific Rim’s most vibrant metropolitan regions and at the gateway to Mexico and Central and South America, California Western students have access to internationally-focused organizations throughout the United States, Latin America, and Asia. Students have the opportunity to intern at law firms, government agencies, international institutions, and nongovernmental organizations in the United States and abroad.

For these reasons, our graduates are well-prepared to apply their skills to transnational legal issues and join California Western alumni working throughout the world in law, business, and government.
