Baran was born in Turkey but grew up in Atlanta. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Georgia Tech. After graduating from college, Baran worked in the mortgage industry and interacted with several real estate attorneys in the process. This exposure to the legal field inspired him to apply to law school and he received his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2010.
After graduating from California Western, Baran practiced bankruptcy law for several years and was the regional compliance manager for a large financial services firm in Southern California. As the Interim Director of Admissions, Baran travels to law school fairs around the country, counsels prospective students about law school and the application process, reviews applications, and oversees admissions data modeling and management of the office.
