Prior to coming to California Western School of Law, Riedling spent 10 years leading communications and marketing efforts at the University of San Diego School of Law and Willamette University College of Law. Before his move to higher education, he was an executive account manager and communications specialist for regional and national advertising/public relations agencies, where he managed clients in higher education, mobile technology, health care, spirits, QSR, and fine arts/antiquities. He was a marketing/pr manager for a regional opera company and for Louisville Public Media, one of the nation's most respected public radio conglomerates.
Riedling served as a commissioner on the City of Louisville's Historic Landmarks and Preservation Districts Commission, as vice president of public relations for the Advertising Federation of Louisville, and as a member of the marketing and public relations committee of a regional arts and cultural attractions council. A founding member of the Young Professionals Association of Louisville, he was a frequent contributor to "Getting Ahead of the Curve," a weekly column in Business First of Louisville.
Riedling received his bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Louisville. His professional interests include the anthropology of marketing, how sales messaging affects and directs behavior and shapes cultural norms.
