The Board of Trustees at California Western School of Law has elected Michael J. Whitton, San Diego managing partner at the firm Troutman Sanders, as the newest member of the board.

“I am proud of my affiliation with California Western School of Law,” says Whitton. “I find that the school attracts serious students who come with real world experience and knowledge—students who are and will continue to be prominent leaders in San Diego’s legal industry and the community at large. As a board member, I look forward to further supporting these dynamic students, the alumni, and this forward-thinking educational institution.”

Whitton has been practicing law for more than 20 years. He advises and counsels public and private companies, real estate investment trusts, and lending and financial institutions on a variety of sophisticated and complex real estate and business transactions throughout the country.

“California Western is pleased and proud that Mike Whitton has joined our board,” says Jeffrey D. Lewin ’75, Chairman of the California Western Board of Trustees and a shareholder at Sullivan Hill Lewin Rez & Engel. “Mike is an outstanding lawyer and community leader. We look forward to his continuing contributions to California Western and our wider community.”
