California Western's Community Law Project (CLP) has received a grant from The Solana Beach Fund, part of the Coastal Community Foundation.
The grant will be used for the operation of CLP's free legal clinic in Solana Beach and community education presentations at local partner organizations. This funding will assist CLP in serving vulnerable individuals residing in Solana Beach and the adjacent communities with their legal needs.
“The Community Law Project is honored to be once again a recipient of funding from The Solana Beach Fund,” said Dana Sisitsky, CLP’s Executive Director. “This grant will help us continue providing much-needed legal assistance and education to residents of Solana Beach. Legal needs during the pandemic have grown throughout San Diego County and we are pleased to be able to assist these community members in locations that are convenient and comfortable."
As well as the clinics, CLP also provides periodic workshops and presentations on topics of interest. Volunteer attorneys are frequently available for personal consultation following these events.
As an experiential clinic, CLP gives California Western law students the chance to work one-on-one with clients and volunteer attorneys in various legal areas, according to their interests. This unique opportunity allows volunteer law students to experience the benefits of helping those in need while learning essential lawyering skills from experienced practitioners.
