California Innocence Project (CIP) client Horace Roberts has been exonerated after spending more than 20 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. Two suspects have been arrested and will be charged with the murder.

CIP-sponsored Bill Signed into Law by Gov. Brown
Assembly Bill 1987

Tuesday, Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law Assembly Bill 1987. California Western School of Law’s California Innocence Project are among the sponsors of the bill that improves retention of client files and expands the post-conviction right to discovery materials in cases where a defendant was convicted of a serious or violent felony and sentenced to 15 years or more.
