Library Maps

First Floor

The first floor holds the Reference and Core Collections. The Core Collection contains frequently used Federal and California materials. The circulation and reference desks are here where you can ask any question about finding materials, and the computer lab is here as well.

3rd Avenue Cedar Street

Circulation Desk

Just inside the entrance students present their California Western I.D. card and other authorized patrons present their California Western Library Patron card to check out materials.

Reference Desk

Just beyond the Circulation Desk, a reference librarian assists patrons with legal research and finding library materials. The Reference desk is open every day.

Computer Lab

A short walk from the main entrance, students use the Computer Lab. Access to alumni is granted for job search or Bar study purposes. Printing and scanning is available here, and another scanner is just in front of the reference desk.

Copy

A copy machine is beyond the Circulation Desk to the right in the south-east corner.

Second Floor

The second floor holds the United States case reporters and digests as well as the law library's administrative offices where you can pay any library fine. In the Broida Room is almost all the collection that is accessible on microform, which includes extensive federal legislative history materials.

Third Floor

The third floor holds the International, Foreign, and Comparative Law Collection in addition to legal periodicals and the library's non-law related materials (Library of Congress Call Numbers A-KE and KG-Z). This is one of the two floors with study rooms that students can reserve at the circulation desk.

Fourth Floor

The fourth floor holds the American Law Collection, which is just the law of the United States (Library of Congress Call Numbers KF-KFZ), with the exceptions of case reporters and digests on the second floor as well as legal encyclopedias in the Reference Collection and frequently used federal and California materials in the Core Collection on the first floor. This floor also holds the Problem Solving Collection. This is one of the two floors with study rooms that students can reserve at the circulation desk.
