Laptop Access to H: Drive

You can access your H: drive from your laptop using a secure FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program.

We are using an FTP program called Cyberduck.  Cyberduck works for both Windows and Macintosh computers.  Using Cyberduck, you will be able to access your files from almost anywhere that you have an internet connection.  We say "almost" because there are some places which have a firewall that prevents the connection.

Cyberduck is a "freeware" program.  This means that you can download and use the program for free.  The software developers do, however, ask for donations to help with the cost of writing the program.  CWSL has made a donation on behalf of our students, and a donation/license key will be included so you don't keep getting nagged about making a donation yourself.

We recommend that you use Cyberduck to copy all school related files to your H: drive daily as a backup.  This way, your school files will be backed up in a secure location.  And if something does happen to your personal computer, you can access the files from a computer in the Student Computer Lab.
