California Western School of Law is pleased to announce that Amanda Cortese-Kolasz ’06 has assumed the role of County Attorney for Oneida County, NY. Amanda has been employed with Oneida County since 2011, having most recently served as Commissioner of Personnel. Previously, she served as Deputy County Attorney-Administration and as an Assistant County Attorney. She assumed her new position on January 17, 2024. 

In making the appointment, County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. said, “Amanda’s legal expertise, management and negotiating skills have helped guide us through challenging times… I am certain [she] will excel in [her] new position and continue to take this government to new heights.”

Before joining the Oneida County Law Department, Amanda was in private practice in Oneida and Onondaga counties, working in matrimonial and family law. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the New York State Public Employer Labor Relations Association and is a member of the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association; the New York State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law and Local and State Government Law sections; the Oneida County Bar Association and the County Attorneys Association of the State of New York.
