Investing in Your Future
The decision to attend law school is more than obtaining a legal education. It’s an
investment in yourself and your future. We know figuring out how to pay for law school
is a concern for students.
The Financial Aid Office at California Western School of Law administers student loans,
Federal Work-Study programs, and coordinates scholarships awarded by other departments,
such as Admissions or Academic Affairs. Our staff is here to help you from the start
and we encourage you to JavaScript Required.

Types of Aid
At California Western, there are multiple aid programs available to help you achieve your legal dream. These options include scholarships, which is financial aid that does not have to be repaid; student loans, which must be repaid with interest; the Federal Work-Study program that provides part-time employment for students; and specific aid for veterans, service members, and their qualified family members.
Scholarships
Financial aid that does not have to be repaid (unless, for example, you withdraw from school and owe a refund). Learn more about the various scholarships available throughout your legal education.
Scholarships for Upper-Division Students
Student Loans
Money borrowed for college or career school. You must repay your loans, with interest.
Federal Work-Study
A program where you work for a certain number of hours to earn money to help you pay for school.
Veteran Benefits
Additional Financial Aid may be available to veterans, future military personnel, active-duty personnel, or those related to veterans or active-duty personnel.

Apply for Federal Financial Aid
To be considered for federal financial aid you must first submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our Title IV Federal Institution code, used on the FAFSA, is G13103. You will want to keep in mind key deadlines and gather all your documentation to complete the form, so you can get the best financial aid package possible.
