Dr. Fareid Asphahani ’22 Honored as Volunteer Attorney of the Year by SDVLP

Dr. Fareid Asphahani ’22 was recognized as a Volunteer Attorney of the Year at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s (SDVLP) 2026 Justice For All Celebration. The annual event honors the volunteers, supporters, and community members whose contributions help expand access to justice for San Diegans facing serious legal challenges through pro bono legal services. 

The Volunteer Attorney of the Year recognition highlights Asphahani’s commitment to serving the community through the legal profession. 

Asphahani is a patent attorney at Ashurst Perkins Coie  whose practice focuses on intellectual property protection and portfolio development for technology startups, universities, and industry clients. He brings a unique blend of legal and technical expertise from an extensive technology background. Asphahani is a co-inventor on a U.S. patent in motion biomechanics and gait analysis, co-author of multiple scientific research publications, and he has technical experience related to biomedical engineering, materials science, and electrical engineering.
