CWSL Trial Team Earns 2nd Place at The Premiere Trial Competition

One of California Western School of Law (CWSL) Competitive Advocacy Program’s Trial Teams has placed second at the Premiere Trial Competition, held this past weekend at UCLA School of Law. Our all-2L team, consisting of Tony Di Donato, Solomon Malcolm, Diego Sotelo, and Jessica Zaki, competed fiercely through four intense rounds, showcasing exceptional skills and teamwork to dominate the competition.
Special congratulations go to Tony Di Donato, who earned a prestigious Best Advocate Award for his outstanding performance throughout the event. His advocacy skills, alongside the hard work and dedication of his teammates, helped propel the team to the runner-up position.
This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the guidance and support of our incredible coaching team. Judge James Mangione and Professor Chris Lee ‘16, along with assistant coaches Raul Rabago ’23 and Jessica Parman ’23, played an instrumental role in preparing the team for success. Their mentorship, expertise, and commitment to developing our students’ trial advocacy skills were crucial to this victory.
We are immensely proud of the students for their hard work, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the coaches for their tireless efforts in leading the team to success. This accomplishment highlights the strength of CWSL’s advocacy program and exemplifies the dedication and passion of our students and faculty.
Congratulations once again to our talented trial team, and we look forward to seeing even greater achievements in the future!
