Professor William Aceves served as a Co-Chair for International Law Weekend, held at Fordham Law School. The conference included 35 panels and keynote lectures and was attended by over 1,000 diplomats, academics, practitioners, and students.

Professor Shawn Fields's latest book, The New Public Safety: Police Reform and the Lurking Threat to Civil Liberties, was published on August 26 by the University of California Press. On September 25, Professor Fields welcomed Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law Professor Jamelia Morgan and Florida State University College of Law Professor Nadia Banteka to discuss his book as part of California Western's celebration of the release.

Articles by three California Western professors were accepted for publication by top law journals, including the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal and three professors had their articles published or reprinted. Professor Brenda Simon and Spencer Williams went on the road and participated in conferences across the country.
The California Western Weekly, Issue 1
California Western Faculty continue to publish high-impact, influential scholarly works. Professor Shawn Fields' Cornell Law Review article, "(Non)Police Brutality," 110 Cornell L. Rev. 823 (2025) has been published. Our professors were also cited by regulators, legislators, and journalists. Professor Nancy Marcus' work was cited by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and Professor Aceves was quoted in a Washington Post article about A.I chip sales to China.
