Catherine joined the California Western community in August 2023, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in marketing within higher education and broadcast media companies. Catherine previously served for five years as Associate Director of Marketing and Communications for The University of San Diego School of Law.
Prior to joining the higher education ranks, Catherine worked both as a marketing manager and as a private consultant for The Weather Channel and CNN, among other major and mid-size outfits, developing and executing multi-million-dollar brand campaigns and events. She oversaw marketing for everything from Democratic and Republican National Conventions to fundraisers on behalf of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, coordinating effective strategies across traditional, digital, and social media channels.
Catherine also has an extensive resume of paid and volunteer work on behalf of socially conscious organizations like Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS), and the Junior League of San Diego. In 2022, she was a member of The Fieldstone Leadership Network of San Diego and Lead San Diego, both of which bring together leaders to work collaboratively across industries and issues to positively transform the San Diego community.
When she’s not in the office, Catherine takes full of advantage of all San Diego has to offer, including live music, breweries, Padres games, and, of course, bike rides by the beach.
